PS (polystyrene) is a widespread standard polymer used in many areas of daily life. The material is offered as GP-PS (general purpose PS, transparent) and as HI-PS (natural high impact modified PS). The material combines excellent dimensional stability combined with chemical resistance compared to low concentrated acids and bases, fats and oils. Thanks to its outstanding properties, this thermoplastic is often used in the packaging industry. The classic yogurt cup is the most well known application for polystyrene. The material is also used in the electrical industry for casing parts.
